Annie’s Review Policy

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!  Here is a little information about my book reviews and personal guidelines.

I am currently taking requests for review.  My favorite genres are young adult contemporary, dystopian fiction, urban fantasy, thriller, and chick lit.  I love any book about princesses and am a sucker for a cheesy romance.  I am not a fan of high fantasy and prefer to keep it fictional.  However, I’m a lover of good books, regardless of genre, and review each request on a case-by-case basis.

I work to read books and write their reviews as fast as possible.  I have no exact timeline for when a review will be published.  I am a college student and have to put my studies first, but know that I will get to your book and I will write a review.

I only accept physical books for review.  As much as I love the convenience of digital books, you can’t beat a paper copy.

All of my reviews are honest and accurately match my genuine perceptions of a book.  As a writer myself, I understand that authors try to produce the best work they can.  In each review, I work to protect the integrity of my thoughts without diminishing the author and his or her work.

All of my reviews are spoiler-free.  Spoilers suck, so I do my best to never put them in my posts.  That way, every reader who picks up a book can have the best reading experience possible.

I post my reviews on my blog and social media platforms.  All my reviews are posted on my blog, of course, but I also feature them on my Twitter and Instagram and occasionally on my Pinterest.  I also rate all my books on Goodreads.

I rate on a five-star system.  I rate books based on how I related to the characters, quality of the plot, pacing of the novel, and how much I enjoyed the book overall.  These rating correspond to the ratings on my Goodreads.  Here is a general breakdown of my system:

0/5: I did not finish the book and would not recommend it at all.
1/5: I finished the book, but thought it was pretty bad.
2/5: There were major problems, but it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever read.
3/5: There were some issues, but it was generally okay.
4/5: I enjoyed the book and would certainly recommend it.
5/5: Holy smokes, this book was amazing!  I would recommend it for sure!

I am currently not accepting requests to participate in blog tours, author interviews, and giveaways.

Have a book you want me to review and simply can’t wait?  I love unsolicited requests!  While I can’t guarantee that I will review your book, I do my absolute best to read everything that comes my way.  Requests for review can be sent to my mailing address:
